Honorary Consul Kim Lovegrove RML FAIB
Honorary Consul Kim Lovegrove RML FAIB, a New Zealander by birth has been domiciled in Melbourne for 30 years. He lived in Addis Ababa as child in 1966 as his grandfather had a senior UNESCO position in Ethiopia in the 1950's & 60's. Mr Lovegrove is a lawyer and was the founder of Lovegrove and Cotton Lawyers in 1993. The law firm has sponsored senior personnel at an HIV orphanage NGO in Addis for the last decade. In 2017 Kim was bestowed the RML Honours for humanitarian services to Ethiopia. Lovegrove and Cotton also sponsors a great deal of the activity of the Consulate and a special thanks is afforded to Mr. Justin Cotton, head of the firm for his patronage and support of this important initiative.
The Honorary Consul is a past conjoint professor and on a regular basis is deployed by the World Bank on various law reform initiatives abroad. The Consul`s wife Tsigereda Lovegrove is Ethiopian and was raised in Harar and is the office manager for Lovegrove and Cotton and is working through a law degree. In light of Tsigereda`s fluency in Amharic and English she is a tremendous resource for the Consulate. The Consul`s son Wezoor hails from Ethiopia and was born in Jimma.
In light of the Consuls` family history in Ethiopia along with the fact that he has a strong familial and NGO connectivity in Addis Ababa, he was honored to accept this Honorary post and will serve the great nation of Ethiopia enthusiastically and diligently.
